Whether you're new to Expedition or a returning adventurer, here are answers to some of the most common questions we receive.
Nope! Expedition is beginner-friendly and welcomes players of all experience levels. We provide New Player Orientation at every Day and Weekend event to help you get started.
Log in and go to your Character Sheet and follow the prompts to create your character. Choose a name, upload a portrait, and select your race and occupation. You can always edit it later.
Yes—but it doesn't need to be elaborate. Simple fantasy garb is perfect for starting out. Comfortable clothes in earthy tones work great. Costumes can grow with your character.
Yes. Every player must sign the current season's waiver. You can check and submit it on your Profile Page.
Yes. Expedition is a member-supported LARP. You must purchase an annual membership before participating in any events. Memberships are managed through your Profile Page.
Visit the Events Page, choose the event you'd like to attend, and click “Register” using your selected character.
Check out our Event Prep Guide for a complete list, but at minimum: water, snacks, garb, and comfortable shoes. For Weekend events, bring camping gear.
Yes! You're welcome to attend as a guest and observe, though you must still sign a waiver if you’ll be on site. Let the staff know when you arrive.
Please check in with the Bookkeeper as soon as you arrive. We’ll get you slotted into the next available quest group.
No. You can choose to avoid combat entirely. Many roles exist for healers, tavernkeepers, ritualists, messengers, and social roleplayers.
Yes. We use foam weapons and light-touch combat. Safety is a top priority, and all weapons are checked before use. There are rules in place to ensure respectful physical interactions.
Absolutely! Every event includes NPC roles. Some quests rotate players into NPC roles, and we also welcome volunteers to play full-time monsters or townsfolk.
Expedition is a rain-or-shine event unless conditions are unsafe. Be sure to dress accordingly and bring weather-appropriate gear.
Not usually. Bring your own food unless stated otherwise in the event details. Potlucks sometimes happen at Picnic events, and players often share at Weekend events.
